Reddit Gen 3 Avatars Have Dropped! Guide: How to buy and sell?

To buy, go to Reddit shop: https://reddit.com/avatar/shop , add the collectibles you want to buy in your cart & proceed with the purchase; payment methods: Google Play Store account, Apple Pay, Credit/Debit cards (& some other options depending on your location and availability.)

If you want to buy an avatar which has been sold out, you'll have to buy it on the secondary market on Opensea:

Step 1: Download Metamask & add Polygon as a network. (If it's not available already) Network details:

Network Name: Polygon

New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com

Chain ID: 137

Currency Symbol: MATIC

Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

Step 2: Get WETH on Polygon The easiest way to get WETH: Buy Matic on an exchange --> transfer it to your wallet --> swap to WETH. This is way cheaper than using any bridge. Make sure to select the correct network [=Polygon] while transferring Matic from the exchange. Keep some Matic in your Metamask wallet to cover gas.

Step 3: Add the avatar to your cart, link your wallet to Opensea & complete your purchase!

All Reddit collectibles have a blue tick, an NFT without one is fake.

Selling Gen 3 avatars on Opensea

Step 1: Import your Reddit vault to Matamask OR transfer your collectible to another wallet [Recommended]

To import your vault, enter your vault's 12 word recovery phrase in Metamask. You can find it here:

Vault > Settings > Recovery Phrase

OR

You can add your private key (it's displayed below the seed phrase) as a new account to your existing wallet.

Alternatively, you can transfer the collectible to another wallet:

'Style your avatar' > You > Choose the avatar > View details > Transfer > Enter wallet address [see step 2 to find your Polygon wallet address]

Step 2: Import Polygon network on Metamask (If not available already)

Settings > Networks > Add network > Custom network.

Add these details:

Network Name: Polygon

New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com

Chain ID: 137

Currency Symbol: MATIC

Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

(It's the same as step 1 of buying but I've written the whole thing again to be thorough).

Step 3: Listing the item on Opensea

Connect your wallet to Opensea, you'll find the collectible on your profile. To list:

Account > Profile > Choose the collectible > Sell > Set a price in WETH or Matic > Complete listing

Costs involved: 1) Matic for gas for approving the transaction on Opensea - it only has to be paid once per collection.

2) Matic for gas to complete the listing - it has to be paid every time you list an item.

3) Matic for Reddit transfers - Reddit usually doesn't charge for transfers as of now, but I'm mentioning it just in case it shows up on your screen.
