[Requesting Feedback] Dapp to link wallet with verified email in a decentralized way

Hello Everyone,

We are building a Dapp (Block Profile) to link a wallet and email. Block Profile is our first Dapp, and we are looking to get feedback from the community.

Problem

We have observed that people looking to raise money in crypto share a wallet address. Frequently, people send cryptocurrencies to the wrong wallets either due to scams or human error. In addition, it is difficult for a non-crypto savvy campaign manager to receive crypto funds or set up a trustworthy profile.

Solution

Campaign managers can use the Block Profile Dapp to link their wallet to an email (ideally, the email is from their domain). Once they verify and link the email address, they will have a public URL to their campaign. Managers can share the campaign URL to receive funds. Donors can visit the campaign URL and know that the user owns the wallet.

All the interactions from the user happen with a Smart Contract. Verification info is stored on the chain to keep it decentralized.

With the campaign URL:

• As a campaign manager, now you have a verified profile that you can share on social networks without worrying about losing funds to a wrong address.
• As a donor, you will have the info about the running campaign and donate with confidence.

Some additional thoughts:

• We are looking to charge the campaign manager for whatever gas fees are involved (There will be three contract calls)
• In the current design, everything is trustless except for the email part. Users should trust that we sent the email to the correct address.
• We are currently thinking about fundraisers but would be curious if you see other specific applications for this.
