Hi all, My name is Ameer, and I am a high school student from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am currently in the preliminary phases of researching my idea to decentralize a stock transfer between 2 wallets. In my research, I am working towards creating a smart contract that would allow decentralized payment using stocks with the minimal function of escrow, using stock certificates as a form of Account Balance. People may be able to acquire better rates on purchases as companies may favor taking stock as a form of payment. For example, financial institutions like banks and hedge funds would favor this as they hold large amounts of stock to maintain a strong position in the derivatives market. I was wondering your guys' thoughts on my to decentralize stock transfers for the given reasons above, as well as that many American firms liquidate fractional stocks upon transfer. My goal is to hopefully create a smart contract by March that is able to exercise the given process with stocks on the NYSE. However, I am not sure if this is possible and am having trouble finding out the legalities of this due to strict regulation by the SEC.
I am really struggling to get feedback on my question and finding expert help. If anyone could give me some feedback, or knows of someone who may be able to help me with this I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
