Seems like the music legends are getting into NFTs now as well. Now THAT has huge value.

I get the feeling that we’re going to see a huge surge of music legends releasing NFTs soon. It started with John Legend being featured on one of the Music NFT platforms and also Linkin Park’s frontman Mike Shinoda who also launched his latest music project to be published in the form of Tezos-based NFTs. There’s probably a lot of instruments/items/media/memorabilia that is just collecting dust somewhere and while it wouldn’t be as cool as having the real thing, having digital ownership over it is the next best thing. I’m sure there are tens of thousands of folks who enjoy their work and have the capital to splurge on their favourite artists.
I came across this article and saw that the David Bowie tribute NFT collection was just released on Jan 27 and if that doesn’t get some people to notice, I don’t know what will. On top of that, John Lennon’s son Julian is also currently auctioning some NFTs (including one related to the lyrics to Hey Jude) which is pretty rad. I think NFTs in music are great but I always saw NFTs as something only modern artists would do.

What I’m hoping for though is that these items will be a little more affordable - the Bowie collection has some mystery packs selling at $99, that kind of thing.

It’s an exciting time for us music fans! :)
