So I want to be clear before getting into the guide. There is a few ways to get crypto 100% free, but this isn't going to get you rich. Like per you most likely will get a few dollars at best.

1. Exchange rewards like Coinbase education and promo

You need have an exchange account obvious. But by taking a given test or jumping through given hoops. You get free crypto.

Note for Coinbase educational rewards expect something like $3. And any exchange that has a test like Coinbase. Just copy and paste the question into Google. This giving you the ability to quickly look up answers.

SIDE NOTE: Some exchanges does give free crypto if you spend x amount in your trades, some give you crypto if you deposited a given amount of money, and there is other hoops. But all of these requires you to use your money in some way.

I'm going to add in here, there is promos in other places also. Note they don't happen often. But promos tend to pay out a good amount.

2. Airdrops

Something you need to know with this is there tends to be a ton of airdrops that gives a worthless coin you can't get rid of. Like no exchange you use or have access to takes it. And even if you can swap it on a DEX, it is a rug pull or soon to be dead coin anyways. So it's worthless.

Now, with that in mind sometimes there is worth while drops.

There is a few tools out there like https://earni.fi/ where you can track your wallet to see if there is something in it which gives you an air drop. Normally this is if you hold 1 coin then another will air drop to you.

Then there is other tools where you can find new air drops.

Again, it's best to research a given coin before you jump through given hoops to get it.

3. Software like Brave Browser

Whatever your feelings are on it, this is a free way to get crypto. By using a Brave Browser you get BAT for letting them show you their ads. Some report of getting about $100 worth of crypto in a years time using this. Note as far as I can tell this requires Uphold exchange.

Then there is other browsers that "mine" or whatever. To be blunt, do your research before using any software like this. Like you might be inviting malware on your computer.

4. Mining*

Now I'm putting a * on this because ONLY SOME PEOPLE CAN DO THIS WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY. In fact, most won't be able to.

This depends on your electric bill, tools you already have, and so on. And note this doesn't apply to professional level stuff.

So lets say if you have a gaming computer you leave on always and have cheap electricity (maybe your own solar system that you own already). In theory you could make more in mined crypto than what you spend getting it.

So this highly highly highly highly depends on the situation.

Note while professional gear you normally would make far more. The time spent fixing, getting new parts, dealing with company level taxes, and so on. It's hard to say if you will ever truly break even.

5. Survey and other things like that

This isn't a great way at making crypto, but you can. Many survey sites and other places will give you crypto as payment. Note many have a minimum payout, max you can gain per day, and it can take forever to get there. But at the end, this requires no money but a ton of time and effort.

6. Moon farming

No but seriously, just post on here, comment, and reply. Also make sure you vote and you can get crypto without spending a cent.

7. Working for it (DAO)

Some DAO will pay you in crypto. So like if you can code, be a graphics artist, or a number of other things. You might be able to get some without spending a cent.

8. Refer someone to given exchanges or services

Many exchanges and crypto services reward you for referring someone and them spending money. Like Coinbase will give you something like $10 of BTC for this.
