What the Shanghai and Capella upgrades mean for investors There are a ton of technical changes being made with these upgrades, but the biggest news for investors is that, as of April 12, anyone with staked ETH will officially be able to unstake it. The process won’t be immediate: in order to protect the security of the network, there will be a queue set up to ensure that the number of validators does not drop too low. How long you’ll wait depends on how many people line up, but it could be a month or two. The good news is, while you’re in line, you continue to earn rewards. Once that initial push is done, things should stabilize — and ETH will be as easy to stake and unstake as any other proof-of-stake blockchain.
