On day 1 of the Blockchain Futurist Conference, Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama gave a 5-minute speech yesterday. While the hoped-for launch of the layer 2 scaling solution Shibarium has not yet been announced, but he had other interesting things to say.

Yet, it wasn’t just a community-first approach that Kusama highlighted. He ventured into a more extensive terrain, highlighting the transformative potential of blockchain technology. His commentary on the concept of the metaverse was particularly noteworthy. Shiba Inu doesn’t just want to dominate the crypto space; but it’s setting its sights on being a cornerstone in the broader digital evolution.
A notable segment of his speech was dedicated to the revelation of two key documents: the “Shiba Paper” and “The 44 Tenets to Triumph in Crypto.” The former promises an in-depth look into the principles and objectives steering Shiba Inu, potentially offering clarity on its broader vision.
The latter, conversely, serves as a beacon for newcomers, guiding them through the intricacies of the SHIB space. Interestingly, this guidance comes at a premium, with the document being pitched as a limited-edition collectible, fetching a price of 1 Ethereum (ETH).
Shibarium Will Launch Today, Here’s Why
While the day’s discussions were enlightening, the absence of an announcement concerning the launch of Shibarium left a lingering sense of anticlimax. This sentiment, however, was swiftly disrupted by Kusama’s cryptic remarks on Telegram: “Why would I release [Shibarium] on a 5 min talk when we have a 16 keynote tomorrow.”
These words, albeit shrouded in mystery, seem to hint strongly at an impending announcement on day 2. Kusama’s subsequent interaction deepened the intrigue. In response to a direct question if Shibarum will be released or if there will be just a date, he playfully quipped, “You got a date today. Tomorrow.”
While the Shiba Inu community grapples with these hints, there’s a mounting consensus: the Shibarium launch appears imminent. As day 2 of the conference beckons, it’s clear that Shiba Inu has, once again, commanded the center stage.
