So is a Ledger really bad or…?

I know there was some concern a few months ago about the security of Ledger. I feel like it might have been blown out of proportion and I’ve heard that since then there’s not really an issue.

However, I’ve seen a few people asking questions about wallets recently and it seems like many are still acting like Ledger is the ugly stepchild of the cold wallet game.

Is this really true or are these folks just fangirling their own favorite cold wallets?

Just curious. I don’t really have a horse in the race except a genuine interest in cold wallet security. Guess I assumed cold wallet + private keys + encryption made them all more or less the same from a security standpoint.
