So why couldn’t the government just demand to get my wallet paraphrase if they ever wanted to steal my BTC?

I know this has been probably been brought up hundreds of times, but I have a significant nest egg built up now that I want to protect, so I am taking Bitcoin more seriously and trying to learn. I see this argument all the time about how it’s the “people’s” money and no government can ever take it from you or print more of it like they can do with fiat that isn’t backed by anything and that they control the supply of.

I understand the mathematical logic of BTC as a way to get politics out of money supply and prevent devaluing currency, but at the end of the day we still rely on the government for many essential services. So if that government ever turns on me and deprives those services unless I relinquish my Bitcoin, then they just forcibly make me give them my passphrase and then poof my wealth is now theirs with no recourse. So is this really that much different than what we already have?
