Solutions On Setting Up A Bitcoin Full Node

First of all it’s good idea to use your full node exclusively via Tor / I2P. You don’t want to expose your actual IP via IPv4/IPv6. There are a bunch of chain analytics companies out there.

If you consider to use a single-board-computer like Raspberry Pi 4, these are imo the best solutions (ascending by convenience):

best overall solution for noobs/non-technical persons, awesome UX but would not recommend it because it’s not free and open-source software (FOSS) and it has become more a personal server OS than a node - actually there are FOSS alternatives like Citadel, but unfortunately it’s maintained by one single person

• RaspiBlitz (https://github.com/rootzoll/raspiblitz)

intermediate technical knowledge (CLI / SSH) required, actively maintained and huge community, opportunity to gain more knowledge about what really is going on, a display is recommended to get basic information (not mandatory)

• RaspiBolt (https://raspibolt.org)

imo the best solution to get your hands really dirty, there’s no GUI though you’re able to build your own your full node with all the tools you really need which decreases the attack surface, if you’re a non technical person then you should expect to fail multiple times while setting up your full node via raspibolt - on the other side you’re going to learn a bunch of things, deepen your knowledge and you’re following the Bitcoin ethos: don’t trust, verify.
