All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 113 Views

There's so much that history can teach us and cryptocurrency is not an exception. It's so interesting to scroll the old posts about Bitcoin and see people's opinions and whether they turned out as accurate or if we end up feeling sorry for them.

You people are seriously not thinking clearly. - 8 Years Ago

It's ridiculous how accurate this guy's predictions around Bitcoin's market cap and adoption was. Something we can really learn from this post is having belief in technology which you've researched regardless of short-term fluctuations. Some of the comments talk about "fairytale land", "pulling numbers straight out of his ass", "you're gonna go broke", "you're fucking mad" - funny how it turned out for OP and I'm sure he's off somewhere doing very well for himself.

I put all my life savings into bitcoins - 8 Years Ago

Bitcoin's price fluctuated between $13.30 and $770.44 in 2013. OP, at the age of 30, bought $50,000 worth of BTC. He states he'll hold for at least 5-10 years and I hope he did. I hope he's doing very well for himself because a risk like that takes balls. It was OP's first and last post, so there's no point messaging him, he's long gone from reddit.

Please don't use floating-point types for currency values - 11 Years Ago

On r/programming, this is apparently the first ever mention of Bitcoin on Reddit. It is a comment which simply leaves the link to http://www.bitcoin.org/ in response to someone stating they'd download a penny if they could. It's funny because one response to the comment calls it "A scam that lets you waste hundreds of hours of cpu time for tshirts."

relax guys, the days of bitcoin are likely far from over - 10 Years Ago

The post tells people to relax in reference to a recent Bitcoin fall ($30 down to $8) and that the success of BTC will not be a steady climb. If only they knew...

So what are the odds of bitcoins becoming widespread and is it worth it to buy them now? - 10 Years Ago

The comments on this post are extremely interesting. There are opinions from all along the spectrum, some thinking BTC won't go past $30 and others filled with hopium.

Bitcoin, an open-source currency, surpasses 20 national currencies in value - 8 Years Ago

An article posted to r/technology (I know). The comments are once again extremely interesting. People regretting missing out when the price "crashed" and talking about how they bought some at 0.8 from Silk Road, some talk about the bitcoin bubble bursting.

What if bitcoins do become a threat to some big players or even the government of a country. What if they give the order for a 51% attack - 8 Years Ago

OP predicts the level of adoption of Bitcoin but proposes a scenario which doesn't end up happening. He also discusses BTC being a competitor to PayPal or Credit companies. Once again the comments are so interesting on this one.

It's the perfect time to buy Bitcoins! - 10 Years Ago

At less than $5 dollars a coin and predicted to reach $50 soon! A comment "I feel like a moron. I bought $1000 worth at $12.50 / BTC thinking it was a great investment. Gunna hang in there and not sell though." A comment responds "That's not so bad, I had a friend drop $5000 at around $16/ BTC.".
