While doing some archeology digging* in http://web.archive.org/ and have noticed that this sub in the past had altcoins and BTC tipping (not sure who created the bot, but it wasn't a built-in feature). Unfortunately it didn't last long but the bot's profile still exists and you may check all the transactions by visiting /u/ALTcointip.
One transaction that struck my eye was from /u/im14 to /u/SeansOutpost for 0.0770042 BTC (link):
I just wanna be part of history. *tips $10*sorry I don't have much..
"Not much" then is worth $2k now.
And if you open the original comment and scroll up just a little bit, you could see that u/MartinGale888 has donated whooping $7.2k to the shelter (56.77337959 BTC) (link). Now that donation is worth $1.5m.
Why am I sharing this? IDK, I just find it wholesome that people donate crypto, especially for charity. Big and small amounts. That shelter most likely sold BTC, since they had bills to pay and people to feed but you may want to hold your fractions of BTC tight and do not sell unless you must. Who knows where we will be in 10 years from now?
\ I was looking into what people were recommending to buy 10 years ago and boy oh boy ... just buy BTC/ETH if you plan on holding long term -* link.
Edit: u/AD1AD thanks for the tip!
