Stockholm Syndrome

I saw a post in the daily discussion and can't find it. Trying to continue that conversation. I am slowly (barely 5% there) realizing why bitcoin pisses off people. I am writing this from an American perspective. Belief in bitcoin signals 3 things:

1. Admission that the system you live in is not the "free market" you've been told and it's a massive fraud. The system is corrupt and allows people in power to step on the necks of the poor. The system is not close to free.
2. You aren't that smart. Many of the people I know believe they are much smarter and frankly their subconscious thinks they are better than others. For example, Americans were enraged (and rightfully so) when our service people were killed. They didn't care much when an innocent family was hit by a botched drone strike.
3. The world is changing rapidly and becoming highly digitized. If you are 25 and under, this probably plays to your strengths. 25-30, probably doesn't do much. 30, and especially, 40 and older, makes you weaker. Your skills are getting outdated and this scares you. As it should.

I don't see much people care about topic 1, but I see 2 and 3 starting to be challenged. Many friends have remarked "I feel like I'm working harder than ever and making more money and than ever but I'm not getting ahead".

What's remarkable to me is that people will continue to defend the system that enslaves them. We are in the stockholm syndrome part of the story. The more shit gets wierd, the more people will defend. This is why I think politics is going nuts-people tell themselves (even though they know it's not true) that xyz politican can fix things.

If you are 40+, I'm not saying buy bitcoin, but I am saying don't mock it, don't dismiss it, don't think you are smarter than everyone.

This is the early stages of a grand revolution. Being not part of it carries massive risk.
