I apologize in advance for my Google Translate.
Seeing a commission of $0.01 on the optimism network on l2fees.info (later it turned out that it was a mistake), I decided to throw $10 there (yes, I manipulate about such volumes). Since there is no point in using the main bridge from the mainnet ETH to transfer such a huge amount, I began to look for alternative ways. The most inexpensive option turned out to be the hop.exchange bridge from the Polygon network to the Optimism network (the transfer commission at that time was $1). All that remains is to get MATIC.
I have accounts on the Binance and Kucoin exchanges. The commission for the withdrawal of MATIC on Binance is about 10 times less, so I decided to use this exchange.
With the help of P2P, I got a little more than $10 on Binance, bought MATIC and, when withdrawing, saw that the Polygon network was not available. In this case, I need to transfer these funds to Kucoin and withdraw them there.
For transfers between exchanges, I decided to use ALGO (low fees). Therefore, I exchange MATIC-USDT-ALGO on Binance and get 5.99 ALGO. I turn to the conclusion and it turns out that the output is only from 10 ALGOs. Well, in that case, I will have to use another coin, for example NANO. I started exchange ALGO-USDT and it turns out Binance is rounding to integers, that is, I can only sell 5 ALGO, but 5.99 is no longer there. But the laugh is that I cannot sell 5 ALGO either, since the minimum order size is $10, and 5 ALGO are already less than $10. What to do? I'm not ready to donate this money to the Binance=).
I decided to buy 4 ALGO on Kucoin, then withdraw them to Binance, and then withdraw 10,99 ALGO back to Kucoin (it's funny that you can enter from 0.01 ALGO on Binance).
So now I have ALGO on Kucoin 10.99. I make a transfer to MATIC and make a withdrawal to my wallet in MetaMask (exchange commission 1 MATIC).
In MetaMask I use MATIC-USDC swap on the Polygon network. First attempt - swap error. The Polygon network commission was debited from me, but the exchange was not made (it's good that I'm not in the mainnet ETH). The second time everything went well.
So, I have USDC which I use to transfer to hop.exchange (USDC Polygon - USDC Optimism). USDC comes to my account, and with them the understanding that I have a zero ETH balance in the Optimism network and therefore cannot pay any commission, which means that my USDC is actually frozen there. I laughed at my stupidity and scored.
The next day, I realized that the commission on the optimism network is not $0.01, but about $3-4. This means that a priori there is no point in transferring $10 to the optimism network.
