Found a way around the high fees!

I was moving some USDC on ETH network today to buy some SUSHI. It was going to cost me half my USDC in fees. I swapped for XLM and it only cost me a few cents to move, then traded for SUSHI. Few bucks total instead of 1/2! 5 ????'s, would recomme...

does anyone know if we could use the gas fees (of moving coins from my hardware wallet to an exchange before selling my crypto for stablecoins or fiat) as part of the "cost" of selling my crypto and deduct those fees from my gains (tax purposes)? thanx
