Thank you Grayscale for the BTC sale price!

Longtime HODLER here. I’ve been through the last two cycles and have the battle scars to prove it. I have been proud of myself over the last many years to accumulate the stack of BTC that I have in cold storage.

I also have traditional retirement assets and investments along with my crypto holdings. Often I have contemplated draining my IRA and my wife’s IRA all for BTC. I could never get around the tax hit I would take, so I talked myself into diversification being a good thing.

Fast forward to ETF launch. After multiple emails I find out my IRA manager that I have been with nearly 20 years is not offering a BTC ETF. They tell me that they need time to “do due diligence on the product” ????.

I quickly discover that I can transfer my accounts to Fidelity and smash buy FBTC. After setting up my account I wait 3 excruciating long days for everything to clear. Because of the selling pressure, what I assumed was going to be jumping in at 50K BTC I grabbed at close to 40K BTC.

Guys, I nearly DOUBLED my BTC stack. I can’t believe it. I had plan for my cold wallet stack… plans to wait another 10 years and then buy the house of my family’s dreams, etc. Now, I legit can’t touch my retirement BTC for 20 years, and it’s the same amount as my cold stack. I can’t wrap my head around it.

So, thank you, Grayscale, and thank you Fidelity for being awesome.
