Balaji former CTO of Coinbase Bet $1M on Bitcoin Hitting $1M Within 90 Days Due to US Hyperinflation back in March, he has now settled the bet buy donating $1.5 million to three organizations.

He posted a video explaining his reasons for the bet in this tweet. (worth a watch, only about ten minutes)

Basically explains that he did this to draw attention to the issues with our economy and how we are heading into a financial crisis that will be worst than 2008 and it's being ignored.

So I spent my own money to send a provably costly signal that there’s something wrong with the economy, and that it's not going to be a "soft landing" like Powell promises — but something much worse.
