The misconception around Metamask wallet and it's "security issues" is really getting out of hands because people don't even remotely understand how wallets work, let alone how to properly secure them

Lately there has been a lot of posts here regarding the Metamask security and the users funds being accessed by scammers and eventually stolen.

I am sorry for all those who lost their hard earned money but please don't accuse Metamask for being a shitty wallet or having poor security if it was you who has been surfing around on shady DeFi sites enabling the access to your wallet to numerous tokens on who knows what networks.

A big misconseption is that the Metamask password that you create (not the seed phrase) will help you secure your account. That is NOT true. If you seed phrase is compromised that is it. Malicious apps can access your account regardless if you changed the password a trillion times!

Prompts that wallets give you are there to be read and are equally important as your seed phrase is.

There is a LOT of "Airdrop Scams", which are a type of crypto scam that preys on apps that auto-detect tokens. Do not trust strange tokens and for love of god don't connect your wallets to strange sources. Fake urls are another important thing to take care of. Bookmarks are your friend.

Always be sure to keep your wallet disconnected from the apps when you are done doing whatever you were doing on that site!
