The Rise and Fall of MoonPlace.io (MoonPlace.io complete history and potential future)

100 Days ago today on January 26th, This post was made announcing the creation of r/cryptocurrency’s first NFT project, MoonPlace.io!

While early opinions on the project were mixed, everyone was excited by the idea of a crypto based r/Place and the fact that the minting of all 10,000 tiles on the board would result in the burning of 1,000,000 Moons!

Many speculated MoonPlace.io would see great success and would be a great representation for the overall Moons project.

And while there was a bit of controversy behind the scenes, with some accusations of developer misconduct and inside trading, everything seemed to be going well officially.

4 days after being announced, on January 30th MoonPlace Minted all 10,000 tiles on the board and had successfully burnt 1,000,000 Moons! Shortly after minting out, 4 “Upcoming features” were announced to help flesh out the site and set it up for further development.

It’s been 96 days since we minted out, and besides an art contest for a few moons, it’s been complete radio silence. OpenSea has reflected this with the lowest offering as of this post being $1 with a floor price of just over $3 per tile. Just keep in mind each one of these tiles took 100 Moons to mint just four months ago!

Despite all of this, not everyone has given up hope. We still have a small but extremely dedicated community on r/moonplaceio with daily updates of the map happening to this day!

We love this project, and if we can bring enough attention to it just to get our 4 promised mint out features, MoonPlace.io can be a successful representation of The overall Moon project and burn many more Moons in the future!!
