The top 10 shilled cryptos on this subreddit - Can they make you money?

a few days ago I made a post about r/CryptoMoonShots where I took the top 20 posts (all of them shilling a coin) then I analyzed how well each coin did. Here's a tldr:

"One coin was in the positive, and it was Sonar, one post of the top 20 posts ever on crypto moon shots had actual growth."

Update on sonar btw: it's down 12% today.

"if you put $100 into the top 20 posts (and the coins being shilled with those posts) in r/CryptoMoonShots you would lose 50% of all your money. "

Which got me wondering... What about here?

It was way harder first off to find shilled coins in the top posts, (because most of these posts are high quality lol) so I took a very helpful post

note: I think I actually messed up my original experiment but no one noticed, I said that each coin would have been bought at their ATH, I meant I would buy them at their initial price.

Experiment:

In this experiment, we will find the price when the coin released - the ath - the lth - and the current price.

Then we will put $100 into each coin when they were released, and compare the profits / losses to the modern-day.

Now compared to r/CryptoMoonShots it's a complete flip, only one coin got you a loss on this subreddit, r/CryptoMoonShots had only one coin in profit. I was honestly surprised that Algo had such a high initial price, and I guess the market agreed with that and dumped it 60% in the weeks after its release. As someone who is invested in algo, definitely hurts that it's the one coin that failed this subreddit.

75% of the top 20 coins shilled on this subreddit have had a 200% gain or more. 90% have broken even or had gained.

let's go back to bitcoin cause I'm baffled, I'm literally baffled, I seriously don't know if my math was right. If you were to somehow buy bitcoin at its release with $100, you would be able to buy 125k bitcoins, (assuming you had someone who would offer that much, it'd probably be satoshi himself honestly!)... someone actually tried to sell 10k bitcoins for $50 back in 2010, but no one bought it!

TLDR: The coins shilled here overall have done well. I have missed some obvious factors like I never went back and looked at coins shilled from 2013-2018, but nevertheless, bitcoin was still the biggest gainer, for some reason cake was second, etherum third.
