There’s no escaping the trilemma. Scaling solutions will never go obsolete with Ethereum. Vitalik himself even stated that.

Back in 2021 when attending the Polygon ZK summit, Vitalik himself stressed on the importance of scaling solutions for the continuity of Ethereum.

No matter how better Ethereum becomes over the years, it will never escape the trilemma and the price it had to pay for security and decentralization in scalability.

This is why scaling solutions aren’t going anywhere unless someone finds a solution for the trilemma (which is very unlikely to happen soon).

But until then, we’re gonna have to focus on scaling solutions if we want to see Ethereum keep growing.

There are already some solid scaling solutions from AVAX to Zksync but I personally prefer Polygon for the simple reason that it basically has its hands on every possible scaling solution out there. Polygon PoS (commit chain), ⁠Polygon Miden (zkSTARK), Polygon Zero (recursive SNARK), Polygon Hermez (zkSNARK), Polygon Avail (Validium), Polygon Nightfall (Optimistic).

But no matter which scaling solution you love and support, rest assured that it wont be going obsolete anytime soon and is actually more than welcome to help Ethereum scale and development further.
