“This time will be different”

So Ive got a range of mates who’ve been into crypto for different time periods and its really interesting to see their different reactions and plans in the different chats.

The old school veterans chat is talking about the mt gox settlement at the moment. Nobody’s even mentioned price. Theyve been through multiple bulls and bears and dont even need to discus their plans….they know exactly what theyre doing this time around. Nobody really talks about price.

The sentiment in the newer chats is completetly different. And theres a real lesson in there. Theyre already getting euphoric. Screeching about ATH’s, sol, avax, shibaaaa, whatever flavour of the month. None have any bitcoin. Some of the sensible ones are talking about their cashing out plans, but the general sentiment sounds more like this when I try to warn them;

“This time is different. Crypto is way more established” “No way retail hasnt even joined yet, imagine how high this is going!” “Cryptos going to replace gold, its the new digital store of value”

You know whats funny about these comments? Everybody was saying rhe exact same thing last time in 2017. Almost word for word exactly the same stuff.

Heres a huge spoiler; No matter how high we go, no matter what else happens, this time won’t be any different.

Remember that dip to $30k that caught us all off guard? The bear market will be like that. But faster, and even more savage. And at the $30k equivalent (whatever the hell that will be) it will dip again, and again. Then itll recover, then itll dip more. And youll hate yourself for greeding out on shitcoins

The bear market will go on for years. YEARS.

A LOT changes in crypto. The cycles get faster and more ferocious. The ecosystem grows. New coins come and go. But one thing that will NEVER dissapear is the market cycle.

Stay safe. Enjoy the run. But plan for the future now. It will catch you off guard, it will hurt. But if youve taken profits on the way up, it will hurt substantially less.
