Yes, you heard that right. THE Gary Gensler that most of this sub hate used to be a professor in MIT that teaches courses related to Blockchain. Most of the records are from 2018, which are understandable since he only got appointed as SEC chair in early 2021.
Some stuff that came out of him in his videos speaks worlds. Some of notable stuff here:
- https://youtu.be/EH6vE97qIP4?t=2106 - "A lot of of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies started out in the cyber punk sort of movement and libertarian movement, so forth. And it is true, you can use this for illicit activity absolutely. But I would say, crime is not new just the mechanisms and means are new.
- "Blockchain technology - along with crypto finance - can be a catalyst for a change"
- https://youtu.be/5auv_xrvoJk?t=1123 - guy talks about the decentralization aspect of bitcoin.
If anyone wanna check here's the playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUl4u3cNGP63UUkfL0onkxF6MYgVa04Fn
P.S. I think if he wasn't appointed as the SEC chair he would be a really good addition to the community. But damn, shit happens.
