Too many cryptos!!!

I like the idea of cryptocurrencies but am overwhelmed by the sheer volume of different types of crypto. I see new ones announced all the time and can see people trying to pump them up acting like they have the new great tech.

I honestly feel like eventually certain more fiat like crypto’s are going to fade away until certain ones are accepted as valuable… it is super hard to tell which ones will be and why? Especially if you Google search them… there are a lot of opinions about this technology allows for xyz and these allow for abc and it is mostly meaningless to me.

I want to say crypto that was created earlier like Bitcoin are more likely to be trustworthy (as in not a company scam, meme, or pump and dump) and am wondering which crypto has longevity and is at least somewhat established.

So I am asking for advice… which cryptos started around when Bitcoin started and lasted this long which are maybe seen in a similar light as Bitcoin?
