What are your thoughts on blockchain gaming?

I recently came across an article about an MMORPG game and for a moment I thought it was the usual games I frequently encounter. It turns out it’s a blockchain game, and it’s something that feels familiar yet still foreign to me.
I don’t really understand the idea of blockchain gaming aside from the fact that it involves crypto and that you can earn money just by playing games. I have encountered several crypto games thought I don’t really play them. Though I can see that there’s a lot of hype around it so I’m thinking, is it a good way to get some exposure to crypto?
