What is something that would cause you personally to give up on crypto. Maybe you believe in it, but you just walk away

So I ran across some video talking about this, and in short it got into if XRP lost the case then they would move the country or give up. I ended up asking myself, what would cause me to give up. Not give up on the tech in thinking it is cool, helping in what ways I can, and so on. But give up on investing and trying to make money with crypto all together.

I don't have the privilege to simply pack up and move out of country. For one, USA is one of the more expensive countries to leave and revoke your citizenship in. Another, it takes a crap ton of money and support. And where would I move?

A lot of people don't know this but most areas will not let you move there if you have given mental disabilities unless if you are stupid rich or it was temporary like a work visa.

So to me, if I was going to just leave the country I would end up having to give up on crypto since I can't leave the country. But what would push me to that point.

• The first and biggest is if crypto had a unrealized tax on it. Where just holding it I have to pay taxes. Taxes I flat out can't afford.
• Following that is if all my off/on ramps are gone. Like I have no way to get in/out of crypto. Which I suspect the SEC is after.
• If it became illegal for me to trade crypto. Like it was marked as a security, and I would get ding for selling.

Believe it or not if it was just illegal to hold it, I would still. I would assume eventually that would be turned over at some point.

But in the situations I listed out, I don't think I would sell. But I wouldn't buy or mine anymore. I would assume it would be a waste of time to keep trying.
