What societal need (besides money/investing) do you think crypto can fulfill in the future?

One of the biggest criticisms I hear people say about crypto investing is that your basically not putting money into anything productive in the sense of crypto producing anything.

For example if you invest in GM they can technically use some of that money for car manufacturing or Disney might use some of that marketcap to use on theme parks or film development.

Looking into the future what do you think might be a productive use that can be done with crypto, and also conversely maybe add to its selling pitch for the general public too?
