What we know about the Reddit April 1st Event so far

For those who don't know, every year on April 1st, Reddit launches some event or game. Last year the r/place game was phenomenal.

In the recent April 1st announcement Reddit claim to have nothing for us this year, but a link embedded within the end of the announcement began a scavenger hunt.

They also mentioned 'place' twice, and also jokingly said that "place would have been better" than anything they could do this year anyway, so why do something else?

So what's at the end? A simple scavenger hunt is quite niche and doesn't involve many people. Nor does it line up with previous events.

I think Reddit launched the scavenger hunt early in the morning US time because it gives people a chance to find whatever "it" is so that the real event can begin.

I'm hoping for something bigger to be revealed at the end of the hunt. Something that brings the site together again.

Potentially another 'place' or another game for everyone?

Could we see Moon involvement and active or passive marketing for the upcoming Gen 3 avatars launch?
