I've been an enthusiast of Bitcoin for years, but I was also one of the opposers of the Taproot upgrade, and even more to the inscriptions, Ordinals and so on, including the BRC-20 smart contracts.
My opinion have changed since then and with the possibilities of smoother transactions (namely in price) on the Bitcoin blockchain made me an enthusiast of layer 2 solutions on the ecosystem with Stacks being the favorite.
On the meantime, in my research, I came across all sorts of L2s aiming for specific features on top of lower fees, such as privacy, higher speeds, and interoperability.
I'd like to focus on the interoperability, which caught my atention when looking into LumiBit, a Bitcoin L2 with EVM compatibility - which allows Ethereum developed dApps to be integrated on the Bitcoin chain too.
EVM is clearly a standard on the crypto space, and anything with the aim of being relevant was always had to follow it. I understand namely in terms of DeFi, and how Bitcoin native Dexes could tap into other ecosystems liquidity, which should massively increase the Bitcoin TVL, but...
I wonder though, what would be the advantage of bringuing some of the activity into the Bitcoin blockchain?
What are the advantages of this interoperability for the average Bitcoin holder?
