I’ve seen people asking this, or saying they’ve already sold and I can’t help but think you’ve either lost the plot or just don’t get bitcoin. THERE IS NO REASON TO EVER SELL YOUR BITCOIN. If the only reason you bought bitcoin is to make fiat gains then you don’t understand bitcoin. What is the point of selling a verifiably scarce asset for an asset that doubles in supply every 5 years? Do you understand that Bitcoin is money if you actually take custody of it? You don’t need fiat, and you certainly won’t need it in the future. So stop selling your Bitcoin to own dollars consistently that lose purchasing power. Maybe this will help: you do not “buy” Bitcoin, you exchange one currency (fiat) for another (bitcoin). We are so early that Bitcoin is still a niche medium of exchange. If you wait 5-10-15-20 years, and Bitcoin, as a currency you hold, becomes a more common medium of exchange, simple math says it will have far greater purchasing power by then than fiat in that time period. And you’ll be able to use it as your currency. SO WHY ARE YOU EXCHANGING A CURRENCY WHOSE PURCHASING ONLY GOES UP, WITH ONE WHOSE ONLY HOES DOWN?!?! [link] [comments] |
