Why does the wallet choice discussion always center around software vs hardware, but multi-sig smart contract wallets are rarely mentioned?

Title is question.

In this subreddit and on r/cryptocurrency, I've seen many posts about this question with the usual arguments regarding software and hardware wallets. While I can understand these arguments, don't understand why well-established really good smart contract multi-signature wallets such as Gnosis Safe aren't ever recommended.

I mean, they have some unique advantages:

• use m/n logic to ensure, that only m signers can make transactions

• Signers can be software or hardware wallets ; both are possible, and as long as I use different wallets, it's unlikely that both will be hacked at the same time.

• Can be used with multiple keys for yourself to have DIY 2FA and backups. I use 2/4 with one key for laptop, one for smartphone (2FA), and two backup keys at home(+friends) in case I loose my laptop+phone at the same time.

• Easy key rolling. Lost laptop or compromised phone? No worries, I just replace the phone key with a new one.

• Gnosis Safe smart contract supports all DeFi, because it's literally a smart contract making tx for you. This is in contrast to hardware wallets which are typically last in queue to support DeFi.

• Multi-sig is implemented on-chain, instead in software. Some software wallets also have multiple-sig, but a bug in such large software is more likely that in concise smart contracts.

• Is heavily used by defi DAOs to manage treasurjes, etc.

• No single point of failure. Every wallet should have this, and only multi-sig wallets can actually achieve this.

And so on. As you see, such wallets can have many benefits, so I don't understand why they're rarely mentioned. The only problem I see, is that they're only on smart contract Blockchains. But since I almost only am in Ethereum ecosystem, this is fine.

What do you all think? Do you think multi-sig wallets are rightly underrated in such wallet discussions?
