Why has the general sentiment about buzzword-fueled projects repeatedly been ignored?

I've been seeing so many posts recently about unfortunate happenings to members of the space, and they typically all share the same trait:

Someone spun a neat story about enticing investment opportunities using words that indirectly or directly implied an outcome that didn't manifest as I was told/had hoped for.

Some of you might remember my story.. sometime last year i posted about how in 2021 I got roped into community management/educational content creation/documentary filming for a project that the dev team ended up rugging for 679 eth.

His method--

1) offer something you know everyone wants a shot at. I.e. financial freedom or generational wealth or easy passive income

2) testimonials + manipulatedhype = fomo for you-- the investor-- who so personally related to that neatly spun story. The first round of testimonials are typically paid actors. You are thinking you'll be the next big gains story.

3) make it real. Make people money. Recruit community members. Make them feel like they are part of something destined for beyond the moon, fucking andromeda.... Then all of a sudden-- its gone. Its not real anymore. The dev blamed the community in our unique situation lol but regardless-- your investment is a loss. And then you come post here, simply trying to save someone else from thinking about doing the same thing they will inevitably do still, and keep the cycle going.

I came here and did it too after I processed a little bit, and tbh it still fucks me up when I think about it. But why... knowing what we know.. seeing what we see everyday in this sub.. why do you think the sentiment gets ignored? It's a weird risk to make such casual exceptions for in so many different instances...
