Why I think DeFi is the future of crypto

I am starting to believe that the future of cryptocurrency won't be the use it of it as a currency itself but rather as a way to access the giant world of DeFi. Sure Crypto could become a currency but that'll be hard, I think what's more likely is DeFi becoming a Big Finance Hub.

DeFi is already massive with billions of dollars locked, thousands of applications and millions of users. Although bitcoin is a good store of value it is technologically dead and its infrastructure is ancient and can't host complex smart contracts like Ethereum that's why as DeFi grows Eth dominance could also grow and so overtime we may see Eth flip Bitcoin very soon.

What are your thoughts on all of this and do you agree or not and why.
