Title is question. After looking into the background of Tether (coffeezilla videos are helpful!) I quickly came to the conclusion, that I don't want to use USDT. It didn't pass my personal diligence. However, I still see USDT widely used in AMM, on platforms, on bridges etc.
Since there are objectively better alternatives (DAI, USDC) , why even have USDT anymore? Shouldn't the community boycott and stop holding/using this token after its public controversies?
After all, the more popular it is, the more new people in crypto may think, that the token ist just "another USD pegged reservd token" managed properly. This is however untrue.
What do you think? Am I missing something?
