Would you feel safe to hold a large portion of your wealth in crypto?

As someone who recently gave up self-custody and now getting exposure to crypto via a "trust fund" (no name here in case people accuse me of shilling), I want to ask how many of you are actually okay with holding a large portion of your wealth in crypto?

Personally, I believe the most important thing holding back mass adoption of crypto is the ability to know how to safely store a large amount of wealth in crypto and the ability to pass down that wealth to your family in case something happens to you.

While I am quite tech-savvy and have some knowledge of coding and even tried to learn a little bit of solidity, the more I know, the more I realize the number of ways I could mess up, which makes me paranoid and stressed about holding any significant amount in crypto, even though I have never been hacked.

For instances, most people in this sub always think getting a hardware wallet is the ultimate secure way to store their crypto, but knowing that ledger is closed source actually make me always nervous about having my money in ledger X (I have a ledger X and Nano). (There’s lot of debate on this, and some people simply just think it’s secure by obscurity, but is it? There’s also “unverified” incident of people claiming seized ledger wallet being drained by authorities in ledger sub)

How about Trezor? I have 2 trezor wallet too, but never used them since knowing the seed can be extracted from Trezor hardware wallet.

Regular people doesn't know or care about these, but simply just recommend "hardware wallet", but I bet most people who use hardware wallet wouldn't feel the same level of safe after reading into those posts I mentioned.

Next you got a tons of issues in "exploit", take a look at this site. The more you interact with anything on crypto (smart contract), the more chance you get into one of these exploits and end up losing money.

Not to mention about all the scam and phish going around in crypto, all the scammer sending out fake help that tries to steal seed phrase, I may not fall for this scam, but if anything happens to me, and my family want to liquidate the my crypto? I can't be 100% sure they wouldn't fall into one of these.

Last thing, the ease of exchanging crypto to other fiat currency, ie to actually cash them out to buy something, there wasn't any easy way for me to sell and get $100k in crypto right now, without dealing with some shady OTC dealer, or losing a few percent for "fees", at least not possible for people in many countries.

Finally, I ask myself if there's anything I can do to make this better or to improve this situation? Unfortunately I couldn't figure out anything I can do with my limited abilities

• I'm not a coder or programmer, I only learn some simple javascript/python enough to write some script for my regular work, manipulate some CSV files, communicate with some API to automate some stuff, but that's pretty much it. I'm not a cryptography expert, I'm not a solidity coder, I'm not data scientist, I don't know how to read assembly code to know the source code of the chipset of my hardware wallet is secure, heck I can't even read someone else security audit on uniswap.
• I'm not a rich or powerful person, I don't have the time and resource to start a company or an initiatives to change this situation, I don't even have enough rest from working to pay my housing debt

So until something happen or the situation changed, I don't think we can truly achieve mass adoption, and I want to be fucking honest, I'm 99% here for the gain, not the tech, I don't care how financial infrastructure of the world improves, or how it would be easier to send money to some remote places, or how some people from some hyper inflation country can protect their wealth, the only thing I care is if crypto can make me enough money to let me stop working and really live the life I want.
