State bloat is a major issue for Ethereum due to dust accounts. Most of this bloat occurred back when it was much cheaper to transact on the chain and involves spam amount of worthless ERC-20 tokens and the remainder is negligible amounts of unspent ETH and ERC-20s.
Would you support a hard-fork for any Ethereum account with <$1 worth of assets in aggregate to be deleted from the state in order to decrease chain bloat and improve the health of the network? Going forward, this is not an issue likely to repeat due to the prohibitive cost with high gas fees to spam the network as occurred in the network's history.
Additionally, an option to put through a gas-less transaction to sweep these tokens and ETH from these addresses to a single address if transmitted prior to the hard fork, would be an option as well for those active users who want to rescue those funds and consolidate them into a single account.
