I am doing a PhD in philosophy and I was delighted to find this article on CoinDesk. I wonder how much our community might have changed in the 3 years since this article came out-- are we thinking of the effects on sociopolitical structures and the good of a decentralized asset? What good is cooperation we with illicit actors, for the sake of privacy? Is participating in markets using the US dollar more or less culpable than with Bitcoin? What is Bitcoin, fundamentally? If a hard fork occurs, are there two entities that result, or just two parts of one entity (one part which we pay attention to, the other less so or not at all)?

The authors attempt to answer or investigate some of these questions, so that we aren't just stuck with mere questions.
