I've spent my morning messing around with L2 solutions for the gas fee issues. I sent over some funds to the Arbitrum network and was exploring what the network is capable off. After a while i wanted to test using Hop.exchange to send my funds back to the mainnet with low gas fees. I proceeded and sent 0.02 Eth as a test amount.
I selected Arbitrum network (from), it revealed my balance and i entered the amount i want to send(0.02). I then selected the mainnet network (to) below and it revealed the amount that was currently in there along with the amount i will be receiving after the fees. i received the metamask notification and proceeded with authorizing the payment. However the fees haven't been transferred to my mainnet and have disappeared.
Now im not fussed about them not being transferred to my account, but if ive done something wrong i want to know where i went wrong to avoid this error in future.
