how stupid can some people be?

I can't believe i have to write this again and what happened in my circle of friends even if the Scam was 100% obvious.

Recently, a close friend of mine met a woman on Instagram. She pretended to be a "professional trader" and had weeks of conversations with him. Although I told him several times that it is a typical scam and he would lose his money if he invest money on her site, he ignored my warnings.

My friend argued that she could be real because she sent him videos and pictures that supposedly showed her activities as a trader. However, I looked at some of the pictures myself and quickly realized that they were fake stock photos or stolen pictures. Even my 8 year old self would have recognized the scam.

Unfortunately, my concerns came true. My friend deposited 100€ on a trading website and lost almost everything on the trade. Now he has only 30€ remaining in "his" account. He said he want to withdraw the left money but ist not possible to withdraw.

Why do so many people keep falling for such scams despite the well-known scam methods?

Unfortunately, my friend is not the only one who transfers money despite such known scams.

I still can't believe that my friend didn't listen to me even though I warned him of the consequences. It's sad to see how reckless some people can be, even when their friends try to protect them.

even such obvious scams are worthwhile as the example shows for fraudsters, every day a stupid one stands up although the scam is known.
