Not asking for legal advice, just spit-balling. I'm sure some of you have put some thought into this-
Let's say someone owns some bitcoin. That person gets married, and ten years later they get divorced, and the price is of bitcoin is drastically higher. Would the gains be protected, or would they be divided? Would the principal be protected?
It's my understanding that pre-marital assets are protected (please correct me if I'm wrong), but I am curious about appreciating assets that an individual owned prior to the marriage.
