There are people who don't have Internet access, but they don't really actively hate it.
There are people who do not use smart phones, but they don't actively hate them.
There are people who don't have a television, but they don't actively hate TVs.
...
Recently a trivia website that I visit semi-often announced they were going to be implementing a type of virtual currency for use with special perks on the site.
In the announcement they specified, "No, this is not a cryptocurrency thing."
Most of the users on the site rejoiced.
"So glad this isn't a cryptocurrency thing!" was a common response to the post.
I posted "Tbh, I was hoping that it was a cryptocurrency."
Within a minute or two my post had more than 25 downvotes.
Someone else commented "Hey hey now people, calm down! I like cryptocurrencies! I actually made a large amount on Bitcoin. Still waiting for the check to arrive in the mail, though."
...
People still mock and hate on crypto.
...
There are people who don't have a microwave. There are people who don't have an automobile. There are people who don't have a refrigerator.
...but they don't hate on those things. (Though when those technologies were still very new, many did hate them.)
A great many people absolutely HATE cryptocurrencies.
We're still early, but that can be good and bad. It is still an uphill battle and it looks like it will be for a good while.
Just my two sats.
