In my opinion social governance is superior to token governance for L1s as well as L2s.

I love Ethereum and its governance model. I think it is superior to other L1s which have token governance enshrined. It will lead Ethereum to eventually ossify its protocol which imo is essential to the longterm success and the deep trust in the Ethereum Protocol. My current problem with L2s is they go the path of token governance which will never completly ossify. I know for example optimism would be easy to fork and create a version with no governance. The problem I see is all current major L2s that have or will have some kind of governance are building up a huge network effect, that other L2s with no governance in future will have a hard time to compete. What do you think about it?
