By now we know that Meta, formally known as Facebook had one of the biggest one day loss in history which was 250 Billion in one day. In the conference call their CFO Dave Wehner quote
"We believe the impact of iOS overall is a headwind on our business in 2022. It's on the order of $10 billion, so it's a pretty significant headwind for our business."
This is really interesting because this is the first concrete evidence as to how much facebook has profited from users.
What is scary here is that apple did not have to do much. There is something call IDFA, identifier for advertisers which gives advertiser a way to track peoples behavior on ios and basically last year apple has had that turned off by default and forced the apps to ask people if they wanted to track.
Basically a simple yes or no which people might not even read through and just click yes. Here is the question though if a simple default can alter so much of their bottom line, what else is there that we don't even know about?
