My journey with altcoins

I never liked Bitcoin. Too mainstream, slow movements, just meh.

So when I decided to jump back into the crypto market about a year ago (after exiting some time earlier with a small profit) I decided to again only go for alts. Some ETH, a bit of Cardano, then this amazing project that was rocketing - Cake (Pancakeswap). Converted most of my portfolio to Cake. In the span of a few days I saw my investment go up 50%, so I set the target to sell and then... the market crashed, and Cake double crashed.

No problem, I've learned from years of hodling that eventually things come around. But this time most of my portfolio wasn't ETH, it was Cake. From it's 44$ ATH I saw it crash to 9, so I started to get really worried, and ended up jumped ship to another project - Ergo. Solid tech they said, backed by Cardano / UXTO they said, will be ADA's Oracle and stablecoin they said. Ergo did have some runs which I failed to capitalize properly, but all promises never came to reality, so my overall portfolio value took another hit...

Tired of small projects' risks, I put all my hopes in Cardano. Well, it did go up nicely, but then it went down even stronger, and after the abysmal launch and speed, I was gutted and losing hopes of ever recovering my initial portfolio value.

Decided to change my strategy once again. Converted everything to Polkadot parachains (Moonbeam, Acala, Astar). Again solid projects, and managed to get them right when they launched. This time, finally, scored over 1x in each on average, bringing me back to my original portfolio value of early 2021.

So after about a year, I'm finally back to square zero. So much work/time for nothing... if not for learning.

Now what? Well, bought BTC and staked it on a CEX. I'm not touching anything else anytime soon.

But to be fair, even though it was rough, it was a fun ride :)
