Please explain this ETH related concept before I start a war with "Trust" wallet

Am I just too retarded to understand why/how this is fair or are they doing something fucked up?

Context: In September, I had issues with my debit card when using my normal exchange so I for the first time bought something other than BTC, which was ETH through Trust wallet. The default option on IOS is the "SWIFT" wallet beta, and there is ofcourse no mention of the fact that gas fees would be higher nor the disadvantages to the "multicurrency" standard wallet, which I literally just learned existed 2 months later due to how their UI is set up. So basically I spent a couple HUNDRED in transaction fees for my ETH sends, and assumed that was standard gas price as it never went below $50 in the wallet, and I also had no way to change the fee (which is the one non-braindead thing I tried to do before proceeding with those transactions). There is absolutely no way to change the gas price and it shows a graph of it basicallty alwyas having been that price, like for years. All this was 2 months ago in terms of paying the fees and what not but I was omega triggered that I couldn't do anything with the last $10.5 in eth because no matter what you try, selling, swapping, sending, etc it forces you to pay a $50- 100 fee. My dumbass would check and try once a week and today I went down a loophole of spiraling tilt trying to get my $10 out, COME TO DISCOVER THEIR VERY OWN "MULTICURRENCY" WALLET THAT IS NOT THE DEFAULT has a gas fee of $1.25 AND THAT THIS IS AROUND THE STANDARD FEE (AND ALOOWS YOU TO CHANGE THE FEES.) NO mention of this anywhere prior to using the default "swift" wallet

OBVIOUSLY im stupid af for ever paying that fee in the first place, but are they doing something unethical here? provided in the SS is the message I sent their community forum moderators as well as images of the app. I need to clarify whether im insane or just in the situation? ALSO PS THEY DONT HAVE A FKN LIVE CHAT OR PHONE NUMBER ONLY COMMUNITY FORUMS
