Profits, Tech, Protection, Freedom? Play the long game …

TL;DR - Whatever your motivation is for being in this space, dream big, set goals, stick to your plan, and play the long game

To post your own thoughts is to make yourself vulnerable. This process becomes even more acute for me when sharing my thoughts on here

Thousands of posts are written every day on this sub. What is there left to write? What things really matter to those on this journey? What will help people continue going? What nagging questions or cultures need addressing?

So let me say this up front. We’re all here for different reasons. Multiple, singular, we have our reasons …

• We want to make gains. Nobody enjoys losing money. For all the jokes, I don’t think anyone wants to be bag-holding exit liquidity. Money is a necessary tool in life, and it’s a tool where quantity often directly shapes access and quality

• We enjoy learning and being at the cutting edge of a rapidly evolving tech landscape. New developments come thick and fast, and for many of us, that in itself gives us great intellectual stimulation

• We see the fraud and folly of our current systems, and want to help build a new, more transparent, equal and robust future. Fiscal policy that could better be described as faecal policy. A powerful motivation to leave the closed loop that benefits the few. Protecting our wealth and legacy, and not letting it slip through our hands like sand

• We dream of a future where we pull forward our retirement by decades. Imagining a life where bills and bosses don’t weigh you down, and a job that seems to encroach on your liberty. I’m not talking yachts and hedonism, but simple freedom to pursue your dreams and passions uninhibited

Multiplying your principle capital by 10x every 4/5 years is a damn good way of retiring 20 years before your peers, and living off passive income. With crypto, it is doable with (yes) some luck, but also with patience and planning

We will all get hit by scams and collapses, but we do our best to plan for these black swans … we take precautions, we practice uniform position sizing, we don’t believe Google Forms is offering us 1.5 BTC free, we don’t load all our eggs (be it assets, wallets - hot or cold, exchanges or project types) into one basket

My encouragement and reminder to us all, myself included, is to remember to let time do the heavy lifting. Set goals. Stay humble. Money talks but wealth whispers. Play the long game. You can win
