PSA: New take on old scam making the rounds on telegram bitcoin meet-ups and crypto groups.

So there is a scammer who is taking advantage of peoples willingness to help. The scam is that he impersonates a bitcoin group admin and then sends messages seeking help. Like it can be that the "admin" is in an emergency situation and needs bitcoin, or needs help buying some miners on time and they have their funds blocked by an exchange. The scam is to prey on someones affinity for the group leader and their willingness to help. They spoof the username with the twitter scam where they use similar letters. They also do things where they put the real username in their bio so it looks like the username field. It is a very advanced scam in that they join the group and gather intel for some time and use that to prey on users. If you are in a meet-up group, telegram group, discord or otherwise please share this info ASAP. Also if you are an admin of such a group please put "do not send me BTC" in your username somehow or something like that. At the very least pin a message.

EDIT: this type of scam is right up there with the romance scams. Like using peoples good will to scam them. Always follow the edict: "Don't trust, verify"
