[Serious] What is a problem, that you truly believe crypto will solve?

With worldcoin being the newest, inane, big-scale attempt to create value from nothing, what do you think is actually something that crypto is uniquely suited to solve?

I'm not just asking for current crypto-projects that address the issues you see, but also for ideas you have on what blockchain and crypto can address.

Because while most of us agree that Blockchain is an intriguing technology, that can be used to create many interesting applications, the actual use cases for most of the more outlandish ideas seem to be lacking.

Do you think it's only Bitcoin, as a store of value, or maybe that Ethereum and smart contracts are something that will create true value ten, twenty years down the line? Not adding others, as I don't want to distort the discussion.
