This is a true story that happened earlier today. Someone on OpenSea was offered and accepted an offer of 8.1 ETH for their NightGuard currently trading at .3 ETH. What happened is the individual in question made a collection offer of 8.1 ETH for the avatars in the Spooky Season: poieeeyee x Reddit Collectible Avatars. They meant to make the offer for a Midas but because it was a collection offer ended up making the offer to everyone who had a Night Guard or Hybrid as well. So you just scored 8.1 ETH because of someone's mistake, you check their OpenSea profile and notice they link their Twitter. You're a little bit in disbelief because who the hell just paid $11k for your $10 avatar?? You check their Twitter and notice the tweet above, now you have a choice; do you contact them and rearrange trading it back, not do anything, or maybe something in the middle?--------------------------Well... In this specific instance, the user in question traded it back over-the-counter on OpenSea and didn't keep anything. The difference between 8.1 and 7.695 is the 5% fee that was taken on the first trade. So OP (OpenSea account) just had a chance to keep $11K from someone else's mistake and they gave it all back and didn't keep anything. If Op is reading this, send me a DM with one of the avatars you hold as your profile pic and I'll edit this post to give you the shoutout you deserve. [link] [comments] |
