He succinctly lays out the point of crypto and why it's important. I would recommend watching the full video for the full effect, but to summarize:

• Crypto allows for a permissionless money system, which has never existed before. Every transaction before had, at the end of the day, been allowed to happen by a bank, the government, someone holding the reins over ordinary citizens.

• Crypto follows the objective rules of math and code, instead of the squishy subjective rules of law. While crypto people are accused by the authorities as agents of chaos and anarchists trying to destroy social order, it is actually crypto that creates the more orderly, more transparent, more fairly consistent and enforced rules. It is the lawmakers and governing bodies, unwilling to let go of their legacy systems, who are the ones letting chaos go unchecked.
